There has been a lot of speculation about Reijnders, and Tuttosport (via MilanNews) confirms that City are planning a new bid for Reijnders which could be enough for Milan to sell one of the few positive notes of the disastrous season.

At the beginning of March, Reijnders extended his contract with Milan until 2030 with a significant increase in his salary (from €1.7m to €3.5m net per season). The Rossoneri do not want to sell him, but if City were to offer €75m, they would find it hard to say no.

Last week, the Premier League giants bid around €60m, now they are waiting for the relaunch to definitively close the deal. Pep Guardiola’s goal is to have Reijnders for the Club World Cup, which will start in mid-June in the United States.

We have clearly identified who the targets are, in which positions, and we have our number one option well defined, as well as the number two. We will act clearly and quickly. Our goal is to be ready with the new squad for the Club World Cup,” City president Khaldoon Al Mubarak recently said.

The Citizens are in a hurry to close, but must make a significant relaunch to satisfy the request of Milan who will then use part of this money to define the first reinforcement of the summer market, namely Samuele Ricci.

The Rossoneri had already tried to sign him in the winter, so the player has long been in their sights. Things could move quickly too as Ricci has an agreement in principle over personal terms, and Torino want €30-35m to sell, money that Milan would have.
