Former AC Milan player and director Zvonimir Boban is in favour of the tactical overhaul expected to take place at Inter Milan.
After four years at the helm, Simone Inzaghi decided to vacate his post at Appiano Gentile. The shocking 0-5 defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final proved to be the final nail in the coffin of his tenure.
Many would argue that the two parties were already planning to head in separate directions prior to the final.
Regardless, Inter are now searching for a new manager, with Cesc Fabregas emerging as one of the main candidates.
In his first season in Serie A, the Spaniard led Como to a highly impressive 10th-place finish. The Lariani also displayed a progressive brand of football.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri fans would certainly flock to the box office to book their seats, as they wouldn’t will be keen to watch their team in action under the tutelage of the former Arsenal captain. But for those who would like to skip the line, all they need to do is purchase Inter tickets via Fanatix, the ultimate destination for sports ticketing.
For his part, Boban supports the idea of appointing Fabregas. The Croatian feels that the young tactician would be the right choice for the Nerazzurri.
The Milan legend also feels the Nerazzurri should stray from the 3-5-2 formation which he doesn’t like.
Boban even argues that Inzaghi’s tactical shape hindered their chances against PSG.
“Inter has a strong core, but they need some fresh names,” he told Sky Sport Italia via FcInterNews.
“I have never liked this 3-5-2 formation, especially when you play against fast wingers. You can easily create 2v1 situations. And that’s what we saw in the final against PSG. You just can’t do it.
“It’s a module that has been almost perfect for Inter. It worked well for many years, bringing important results.
“But at certain levels, you struggle against other systems, especially against PSG, which is perhaps the fastest team in the history of football.
“PSG knows how to defend in the Italian style, but they don’t give you points of reference.
“I like Fabregas, and a lot: what he did against Como was excellent. His team is well-rounded, and they always know what they have to do.
