Even though the season has only just ended there are a lot of transfer rumours concerning AC Milan, and Malick Thiaw is being linked with an exit.
The 2024-25 campaign was a strange one for Thiaw with Milan, as he struggled for regular starts throughout but then vanished from the rotations despite the switch to a three-man defence. This had led to speculation about a potential move before 2025-26.
Thiaw wanted in Germany
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), other members of the Milan squad also have admirers around Europe in addition to the likes of Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez. For example, Thiaw is sought after especially in his homeland.
First the rumours about Bayern Munich surfaced, who have already added Jonathan Tah to their defensive department. Then came those stories about the concrete interest of Leverkusen, who must ironically replace Tah.
At the moment there is still no agreement between Bayer Leverkusen and Milan on the valuation of the former Schalke 04 player. The German side would not like to go above €20-25m, while the Rossoneri are wanting €30m to sell.
Thiaw’s farewell could then lead to Fikayo Tomori remaining at the club, something that Massimiliano Allegri does not mind. Then, surely another central defender would be needed, with Giovanni Leoni the number one target according to DAZN.
