Liverpool staff rate Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo as a much more complete player than Romeo Lavia.
That is according to a report from The Athletic.
They claim that Liverpool feel like Moises Caicedo is more rounded and experienced than Romeo Lavia.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds side were strongly linked with the two midfielders during this summer transfer window, but both ended up snubbing Anfield to join Chelsea.
First of all, we’re delighted that Chelsea beat Liverpool to sign both Caicedo and Lavia this summer. We’re expecting big things from the young midfield pair.
Caicedo, who’s just 21, has still played less than 50 games of Premier League football.
However, the dynamic all-action central midfielder was fantastic in Brighton colours before earning his glamorous transfer to Stamford Bridge.
Lavia is even less experienced with 29 Premier League appearances in total.
The 19-year-old defensive midfielder alerted clubs to his name aftre some eye-catching displays for relegated Southampton last season, though.
We agree that Caicedo’s got his nose out in front of Lavia right now.
It’s going to be interesting to see who fulfils their maximum at Chelsea, though.
There’s the potential to have such a talented and young midfield trio if Caicedo and Lavia slot into the XI next to Enzo Fernandez.
