CM: Gianluigi Donnarumma return to AC Milan unlikely as PSG goalkeeper’s agent outlines…see more

Gianluigi Donnarumma’s return to AC Milan appears unlikely despite reports the goalkeeper could leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The goalkeeper’s agent, Enzo Raiola, outlined the factors that make a transfer back to Italy difficult at this point, with no negotiations taking place as of yet. Juventus, Inter and his former side Milan have been suggested as possible destinations after he cast doubt on his future at PSG, while Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on him.

Donnarumma rose from the ranks of Milan before making a move to PSG in 2021 after winning the European Championship with Italy. He won the Champions League with the Parisians last week, playing a pivotal role on their journey to the final. Raiola, his representative, has not shied away from indicating that he could head back to Milan, pointing to Paul Pogba’s returns to Juventus and Manchester United.

Speaking to Radio Sportiva, Raiola said: “A return to Milan? Why not? We took Pogba from Manchester United to Juventus and then back to Juventus. There are no impossible things. Milan, even if it is not at its best, is always a very respectable club, which Gigio will always thank. They pampered and raised him, so Gigio will always have an important affection and gratitude towards the Rossoneri.”

Donnarumma has a year left in his contract, and if he doesn’t switch clubs this summer, he will leave PSG as a free agent next term.
