Another report has confirmed that AC Milan are interested in signing Mateo Retegui from Atalanta, but it will not be an easy deal.

It was Sky’s Gianluca Di Marzio who reported last night that Milan are keen on Retegui. They are looking for a guaranteed goal scorer to put alongside Santiago Gimenez, amid the uncertainty over Luka Jovic and the need to be patient with Francesco Camarda.

With the possibility of the Serbian leaving for Mexico or Brazil and Tammy Abraham returning to Roma, Calciomercato.com also confirm that the Rossoneri are interested in signing Retegui.

The Atalanta striker was the top scorer in the 2024-25 Serie A season with 25 goals, earning him the title of Capocannoniere, and he is one of the names being considered by Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri.

The costs are high but Milan will try. Juventus are also at the door and is evaluating whether or not to enter the race for the 25-year-old. The problem for both, predictably, is the price.

The Italian national team striker is valued between €40m and €50m by the Bergamo club, who understandably do not want to lose a player they bet on a year ago and are enjoying the exploits of.
