CM: Dortmund centre-back ‘represents a concrete option’ for Milan…see more

AC Milan are continuing to look into potential reinforcements for the defensive department, and Niklas Sule is the latest idea.

There continues to be some doubts about how the defensive department might look for 2025-26, especially after Massimiliano Allegri’s arrival and his desire to focus on being much more solid at the back.

Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori both continue to be linked with exits, and that would mean that Milan need to sign a central defender to complete the department numerically.

During his segment on the Sky programme ‘Calciomercato L’Originale’, Gianluca Di Marzio gave an update on a name that Milan might go for if there were to be a sale.

“In the event of a departure in the defensive department, Milan could focus on an experienced profile like that of the German defender born in 1995. Süle has a contract expiring in 2026 with Dortmund, and represents a concrete option for Tare and the Rossoneri management,” he said.

In the season just ended, the former Bayern Munich man made 21 appearances across the Bundesliga, Champions League and the DFB-Pokal. At 29 years of age and with 14 major honours to his name, his experience could be valuable for a quite young rearguard.
