Report: New Viktor Gyokeres ‘offer’, Sesko update, Nico Williams twist… see more

The summer trading period is still closed but that has not stopped rumours surrounding plenty of Gunners targets. Viktor Gyokeres is one name that continues to be a trending topic and his rather public fallout with Sporting CP could significantly impact his future.

Benjamin Sesko is the other main striker target for Arsenal and though talks are ongoing, a definitive breakthrough and thus update seems some way off.

More shocking claims have been made in Portugal regarding Arsenal’s transfer pursuit of Viktor Gyokeres.

The Sporting CP striker is a target for Mikel Arteta with Andrea Berta appearing to hold multiple meetings to discuss a move. Now, Record has shed some light on what took place in the latest of those.

Their report claims that the Gunners put forward a bid totalling £55million (€65m) with £8.4million (€10m) of that being add-ons.

However, that is some way off Sporting’s new asking price which club president Frederico Varandas has now stated is £67.4million (€80m) and therefore that reported opening offer was unsurprisingly not accepted.

Arsenal are expected to raise their offer for Viktor Gyokeres, according to Mais Futebol.

The Gunners lodged their first proposal – worth £46.8million plus bonuses – but Sporting CP are holding out for a much higher fee and closer to his reported £85m release clause.

But now, Mikel Arteta’s side are anticipated to make a second bid in the region of £59.6m including bonuses. Sporting are said to have a good relationship with Arsenal, and are ready for a new round of negotiations.

Elsewhere, Rodrygo continues to be linked to an Emirates Stadium switch with fellow Brazilian Gabriel Magalhaes approving a transfer for the Real Madrid star. Exits are also expected in north London with Thomas Partey still facing an uncertain future

Sunderland starlet Chris Rigg has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs including Arsenal.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, the Gunners are joined in the race for his signature by West Ham, Manchester United, Liverpool, Everton, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Bayer Leverkusen, and RB Leipzig.

Following their promotion to the Premier League and record sale of Jobe Bellingham to Borussia Dortmund, it is no surprise they are demanding up to £40million to sanction a departure for the 17-year-old.

Arsenal have not yet given up hope of signing Alexander Isak from Newcastle United, Alex Goldberg has claimed on a Playback stream, (subscription required).

The Gunners and Mikel Arteta are long-term admirers of Isak but as the Magpies have secured Champions League football and a trophy, a move is considered off the table.

He later clarified that while it is unlikely, it has not been completely ruled out but that there is actually more hope of signing Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid.

Bayern Munich are definitely winning the transfer race for Nico Williams, but Arsenal are not entirely out of it.

David Ornstein of the Athletic has now stated that while signing a striker is the priority, bringing in a winger is not far behind.

Nico Williams has become Bayern Munich’s top wide forward target after a move for Bradley Barcola of Paris Saint-Germain became complicated.

The Athletic Club star, who has started early contract extension talks, has a £49million (€58m) release clause in his current deal. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano is now claiming that Bayern have met his representatives on two separate occasions this month.

But that his hefty wage demands could be an issue which is similar stumbling block to the one facing Arsenal.

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes has given the green light to sign Real Madrid star Rodrygo.

The Gunners have been linked to signing the Brazil international in the summer transfer window and now his international teammate Gabriel is seemingly hopeful they can also link up at club level.

Speaking on Podpah, he said: “I don’t [know if Rodrygo will join Arsenal]. But I’d like obviously. He’s a phenomenon. I’ve told people already, he’s a phenomenon! If it was up to me, of course!

The Athletic’s David Ornstein has provided a considerable update on Arsenal’s striker transfer search which may explain why it appears as though limited progress is being made.

Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta have already been working hard on new signings with Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga on the verge of joining.

Fresh updates on Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko, Rodrygo and Nico Williams have all come to light in recent hours with the latest on those names and much more to be covered throughout the day.
