The midfield is a big area of focus for Milan this summer. Tijjani Reijnders has already left, and it seems he will not be the only departing Rossonero. As in the past weeks, Napoli have re-entered discussions for Yunus Musah.
Now, that deal could be much more important for the Diavolo.
At present, the move for Musah is looking difficult, largely due to the problems in agreeing a deal with Napoli. However, there could be a reason to now accept the deal as it is, rather than letting it slip away.
According to Sportmediaset (via Milan News), the plans to reinforce the midfield include the signing of Guerra from Valencia, and he would cost around €22 million. The report continues, stating that the club hope to use the funds from Musah’s exit to bring him to the club.
Considering there is a €25m bid already on the table for Musah, perhaps it would be better to take it and run, rather than risk losing the deal and in turn, another.
One former Valencian is the key to another’s arrival. It is rather funny how football, and more specifically the mercato, works sometimes.
