AC Milan are looking for a new Tijjani Reijnders this summer, and their hunt has taken them to Spain with an interesting profile available.
There is a need to add more creativity to the midfield, even after the addition of Luka Modric. The facts are simple, without more inspiration in midfield, it is quite a physical trio, rather than a mix. Of course, that can work. However, there needs to be more balance.
As a result, the Rossoneri are looking for a player with technicality, but with the ability to compete in more physical situations, too. So, Javi Guerra is a top priority, as reports suggest.
A new Reijnders?
In the past few days, the Diavolo have returned to the table after having an initial ‘offensive’ bid rejected, and DAZN journalist Gabriele Giustiniani, who has an eye for La Liga, has commented on his ability, as Milan News relays today.
What impressions have you had from Javi Guerra this past season?
“A mature player, ready for a different place. I’ve always liked him a lot, and he was a constant with the youth national teams.”
Milan sees him as a possible replacement for Reijnders. Do you think the comparison is accurate?
“A player with similar skills but not the same. He certainly dives in, and he also played as an attacking midfielder. He is more physical but with fewer touches of genius. However, he is solid and has a splendid reading of the game and is not bad in the tackles either.”
