AC Milan could make a late attempt to bolster the No.9 role this summer, according to a report, with stars such as Victor Osimhen and Dusan Vlahovic on their radar.
With just Santiago Gimenez left in the squad, following the departures of Tammy Abraham and Luka Jovic, Milan need to sign someone for the No.9 role this summer. Instead of three players for the role, the priority seems to be having two top-class strikers.
According to Carlos Passerini of Corriere della Sera, as transcribed by Il Garante, Milan could wait with their No.9 pursuit until August in order to get the best price possible. Why? Because top players like Osimhen (still owned by Napoli) and Vlahovic are on their radar.
If the Nigerian is still available by mid-August, as the journalist states, then Milan will try to make an attempt. It won’t be an easy negotiation even late on in the window, though, and that’s why an attempt for Vlahovic cannot be excluded in the first days of August.
The well-known Juventus journalist Gianni Balzarini has already reported that Vlahovic ‘has chosen Milan’ and that the Bianconeri are willing to accept a bid of around €25m. In short, the Serbian could be the perfect solution, also given his relationship with Max Allegri.
For the pre-season, meanwhile, Gimenez should be the main striker for Milan and it’s possible that Francesco Camarda could stick around a bit before moving on loan. Lorenzo Colombo has also returned from his loan spell, so Allegri won’t be without options.
