Andreas Christensen is one of many Barcelona players who are facing an uncertain future at Camp Nou as the club brace themselves for a crucial week ahead.
With the squad having at least five players who can operate at centre-back, Barcelona are expected to sanction the sale of at least one.
Christensen has emerged as the most likely candidate, having mostly struggled with injuries over the past year or so.
According to Mundo Deportivo, AC Milan are among the clubs interested in a move for Christensen this summer.
The Rossoneri are keen on shoring up their ranks in the defensive unit, though their primary target is someone else.
Indeed, Milan are interested in Giovanni Leoni of Parma, who is regarded as one of the rising stars in Italian football.
However, having made a breakthrough at just 18, Leoni is expected to cost a fortune, which is why Milan are open to alternatives. The Italian outfit ideally prefer an experienced option at the back.
That is where Christensen comes into the fray. The Dane brings a wealth of experience to the table, having played in La Liga, Bundesliga and the Premier League.
Christensen is unlikely to cost a fortune either, as his contract expires in 2026, with Barcelona not having much leverage in the deal.
The Catalans, in fact, may even settle for the bare minimum, knowing that Christensen being released from the wage bill could be much more important.
Christensen, though, is not interested in a move away from Camp Nou and has reportedly rejected attempts from Saudi Arabia already.
Therefore, it will be interesting to see whether the interest from Milan is enough to woo the Dane to leave the club.
