Breaking news: Sky journalist states Maignan is safe at Milan for the time being… see more

There is confusion heavily present in the situation of Maignan. After all, it is difficult to navigate among all parties. Milan want to keep the goalkeeper and are attempting to restart contract discussions.

Only a few weeks ago, the Frenchman stated his desire to leave amid a bid from Chelsea. Of course, the former is not a refusal to the latter, should it arrive. He could well sign a new deal and also depart, though the chances are heavily unlikely. Instead, it would probably be one way or the other.

For now, though, there is a bit of safety – maybe not serenity – regarding Maignan, at least from a Rossoneri perspective, and an update has arrived from Luca Marchetti, a Sky journalist, as Milan News relays today.

“He won’t move, for now, but there are still doubts about the future. Chelsea are still in pole position and could return to the player in the near future, perhaps in January.”

Perhaps, the chance for financial gain has now disappeared. A dangerous game, one that needs solving, though.
