LeBron James has never gotten the chance to play on the same NBA team as his close friend Chris Paul.
This may finally be that time.
Paul is seeking to play for a team in Los Angeles, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.
That does leave the Clippers in the picture, too, of course. But Paul has already traveled down the Clippers road.
It makes sense that he’d want to cap his legendary career alongside James and Luka Doncic in the purple and gold.
Paul can still get the job done. He started all 82 games for the San Antonio Spurs this past season.
He wouldn’t have to start with the Lakers, but he could. They could run out Paul, Austin Reaves, Doncic, James and a center.
Or if the Lakers chose to bring CP3 off the bench, that’d work just fine, too.
He’s at the stage of his career where he wants to mentor and help his younger teammates.
Basketball fans from this era would certainly enjoy the chance to see Paul and James on the court for the same team, too.
Paul is 40, just like James. But they’ve defied time and are still plugging away at their crafts. Basketball fans are now waiting to see if they finish their careers together.
