Report: AC Milan ‘very interested’ in signing Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea…see more

Speculation has been increasing about Nicolas Jackson’s future with Chelsea, and the latest rumors have him firmly in the crosshairs of AC Milan.

According to various sources in Italy, including Alfredo Pedullà and Matteo Moretto, the Rossoneri are obsessed with Jackson, and have enquired about the conditions of a potential deal. Their primary target had been Victor Boniface, but Bayer Leverkusen’s asking price is apparently much higher than Chelsea’s relatively modest valuation of Jackson, said to be just €50m. (Ed.note: Chelsea paid €35m to Villarreal two years ago.)

Milan’s interest in Jackson follows similar rumblings involving Juventus, Napoli and Atlético Madrid.

Jackson was our second-most influential attacker last season after Cole Palmer, and at 24-years of age, he still has plenty of room for improvement. He is just the second striker to score 10+ league goals in back-to-back seasons since Diego Costa (alongside Tammy Abraham), but more importantly, his overall game brings out the best in our attack. If Chelsea have truly decided to let him go, his impact would be hard to replicate, and his departure may be one we regret in the long term.
