Arsenal are showing interest in a surprise summer move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, journalist Rahman Osman has claimed.
The Gunners reportedly have a meeting with Juventus scheduled next week to discuss the Serbia international’s potential arrival at the Emirates amid growing uncertainty over his future in Italy.
Juventus are looking to offload Vlahovic’s hefty £315,000-a-week wages this summer and are even claimed to be prepared to terminate his contract to speed up his exit.
Vlahovic is also believed to be high on Manchester United’s list of targets this summer, along with Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo.
Arsenal are said to have identified Vlahovic as a potentially cheaper alternative to their top target Viktor Gyokeres, for whom Sporting Lisbon are demanding around €80m (£69m).
While the Sweden international is believed to be prioritising a move to the Emirates this summer, Arsenal’s pursuit has made little progress so far, with no agreement yet reached between the clubs.
Vlahovic, meanwhile, is expected to depart Juventus before the transfer window shuts and is said to be prioritising continuing his career in Europe.
He has already rejected proposals from clubs in Saudi Arabia and is reportedly willing to take a pay cut from his eye-watering £315,000-a-week salary at his next club.
Arsenal’s summer business has picked up pace in recent days, with deals announced for Kepa, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard.
The Gunners have also reached an agreement to sign Chelsea winger Noni Madueke in a package worth £52m, with a five-year deal already in place.
