Former Bayern Munich assistant Hermann “Tiger” Gerland recently retired and was asked about some players he identified for Bayern Munich to sign.
As it turns out, Gerland has a mighty fine eye for talent.
“I recommended Erling Haaland when he was still at Molde. He was in Munich for negotiations, he wanted to earn €10-15k a month, and would have cost €2.8m. [I also recommended] Dayot Upamecano, who would have cost €2.2m before he went to Salzburg,” Gerland told KickerImagine Bayern Munich getting in on the ground floor for Haaland or Upamecano. Maybe, someone should have been listening a little closer to what Gerland was saying, eh?Looking for a discussion on whether or not Bayern Munich is equipped with the necessary leadership for the upcoming season?
