Archie Brown could be Milan’s third signing of the summer, as an agreement has been reached with the Belgian side Gent and the player.
It will be crucial for Milan to add a left-back to the squad as soon as possible, ideally before the pre-season tour starts, and Brown has ended up at the top of the list. However, that doesn’t mean the Rossoneri will proceed with the signing.
The interesting factor to consider here is that Fenerbahce are very keen on signing the player as well, prompting Milan to make a quicker decision on the matter.
According to the latest from Matteo Moretto, Brown’s future will be decided in the next few hours. Milan and Fenerbahce remain in the race, having both reached an agreement with Gent at €8m, but the player would prefer a move to the Rossoneri.
The Turkish side are hoping that a richer contract offer will convince the left-back, while Milan are relying on his willingness to play at San Siro. As things stand, it’s up to the Rossoneri to proceed with the negotiations and formalise a total agreement.
In short, Tare is yet to make a final decision on whether the Englishman is the right signing for Milan. We will have the answer very soon, though, so there is no point in speculating over the potential outcome.
