Disney Channel Alum Coco Jones Makes Life-Changing Announcement With NBA Star originally appeared on Parade.
Coco Jones announced some exciting personal news on her Instagram this Friday afternoon.
The singer and Let It Shine actress posted one photo of her and her fiancé, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell, sharing a kiss as the sun sets behind them to announce the engagement subtly. Jones, who is dressed in a white strapless dress, has her left hand gently resting on Mitchell’s chest, giving a perfect view of her sparkling engagement ring.
Though Jones provided no caption or context on the post, fans and friends knew exactly what she was hinting at and filled the comments with excitement and congratulations.
Popped out ENGAGED!” another fan wrote. “Yes ma’am!”
The Bel-Air actress and the NBA star quietly began dating in 2024. They were linked romantically when they were spotted together at Michael Rubin’s famous Fourth of July White Party, an Usher concert in September and Jones watching Cavaliers games. Jones confirmed the relationship in March in an episode of Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay.
Jones is a singer and actress who first gained attention as a Disney Channel favorite in the 2012 movie Let It Shine. She later transitioned into music, earning critical acclaim for her powerhouse vocals and R&B sound. Her 2022 EP, What I Didn’t Tell You, showcased her talent, leading her to win Best New Artist at the 2024 BET Awards. Jones also stars as Hilary Banks in Peacock’s Bel-Air reboot. The 27-year-old recently dropped her debut album, Why Not More?, this past April and just wrapped the North American leg of her Why Not More? Tour in support of the release.
Meanwhile, Mitchell has been a point guard for the Cavaliers in the NBA since 2022. The 28-year-old athlete was originally drafted by the Utah Jazz in 2017 after attending college at the University of Louisville.
The couple is stepping into a new chapter, and their fans couldn’t be happier to celebrate it with them.
