Arsenal have already secured three signings in the summer transfer window, with a fourth addition right around the corner.
While the Gunners had something of a quiet June, the month of July has proven to be a busy one for Andrea Berta.
Arsenal have made three signings so far, with the likes of Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga joining the club.
Beyond them, though, Arsenal have plans to add even more firepower to the team, with one medical booked and a round of talks for another star now lined up for after.
Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea in a deal in the region of £52 million this summer.
The Gunners have been on the hunt for some quality and depth in the market, which has been clear in the types of moves they have made.
In Madueke, Arsenal would have a player who is comfortable playing on either wing, while he has shown he can play at the top level over the past few seasons.
With a deal set to be sealed soon, the Daily Mail reports that a medical has been booked for July 14, with the expectation that the announcement will come in the following days, provided that the tests all go well.
Madueke’s transfer to Arsenal has caused quite a split among the fanbase, with some willing to back him and others questioning whether he will be good enough.
Arsenal legend Ian Wright outlined just how good he is and predicted big things back in 2023 on Match of the Day, when he said: “Frank [Lampard] started him at Arsenal and said the reason why he put him in was because of how hard he’s been working in training to try to get that consistency to try to get himself in the team, and he’s done it.
“He was very, very good today, gave Vina a lot of problems. The problem with him, though, is his final ball.
“He holds it for too long, and he’s going to have to learn quickly to make better decisions in that instance. He’s got this kind of ability to go past people, and as time goes by, he will feed it into the box, he’ll start to get that in his game, and once he does, Chelsea will have a real prospect on their hands.”
Madueke has only gone on to improve since then, with his deal to Arsenal now closing in on completion.
He isn’t the only forward on the cards for Arsenal, however, as two more stars are being lined up.
With Madueke’s deal now nearing a conclusion, Arsenal are pushing forward with several other options for the forward line.
The Gunners are closing in on signing Viktor Gyokeres, with the final details still being ironed out with Sporting CP over the move.
After the striker and the deal for Madueke, the Daily Mail’s report claims that Arsenal will push to sign Eberechi Eze.
The England international has been of interest to the side for some time, following an impressive spell with Crystal Palace in the top flight.
With his versatility and quality, the Gunners may feel they can finally make a push and fight on all competitive fronts this season.
