Arsenal and Liverpool are among candidates to sign Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman, according to Italian outlet Corriere della Sera (page 7)
The Nigeria international had a brilliant 2024/25 campaign with the Serie A giants, scoring 20 goals and providing seven assists in all competitions.
With two years left on his contract, he is ready to pursue a new challenge and reports suggest that he could be Premier League-bound this summer.
As per Corriere della Sera, Arsenal and Liverpool are among his admirers. Napoli and Barcelona have also been credited with an interest in signing him.
Atalanta are looking for at least £52 million to part ways with the 27-year-old.
The Charlton Athletic graduate has made immense progress since his move to Atalanta from RB Leipzig. He has been hugely consistent as a second striker.
Lookman has an obvious bias for the left flank and likes to cut inside. The Nigerian star can also comfortably play from the left or right wing if required.
Arsenal have been mentioned as possible suitors, but the Gunners have not made any form of contact thus far. He does not appear to be a priority target for the club.
Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze and Real Madrid’s Rodrygo are viewed as the leading candidates for the left wing role. The Gunners are in contact with the former’s camp.
In our view, the Lookman link could be Atalanta-driven to speed up his potential exit from Bergamo.
Inter Milan have today held positive talks with his entourage, and a bid worth £35m could be lodged.
Atalanta are probably sending a message to the Nerazzurri that there are several other suitors, and they won’t entertain offers less than £52m for the versatile attacker.
