AC Milan and Club Brugge remain without an agreement over Ardon Jashari, but Inter could be the ones who hold the key.
Jashari has made it clear that he only wants to join Milan, but the last obstacle is still to be overcome and that is agreeing a transfer fee with Club Brugge. As MilanNews reports, the latest offer of €32.5m plus bonuses remains on the table but is yet to receive a concrete response either way.
The report adds that there’s another factor behind the stalemate regarding Jashari’s move to Milan, linked to a signing that Brugge are seeking to complete: Inter’s Aleksandar Stankovic.
The two Nerazzurri clubs have held intense discussions in recent days, including a meeting with Club Brugge executives at Inter’s headquarters, to try get to the handshakes. The crux of the matter is the buyback fee (which the Belgians want at €30m, Inter at €25m) and resale clause.
The feeling is that once an agreement is reached for Stankovic’s transfer to Belgium, Jashari’s move to Milan could be unblocked. It’s not an automatic thing, but those are the signs that have been been leaking out in the last few hours.
Jashari’s strong desire to wear the Milan shirt is demonstrated not only by the way he expressed his wish to Brugge, but also by how he rejected the advances of at least four Premier League clubs, including West Ham and Nottingham Forest.
His agents are working tirelessly to ensure everything comes together as smoothly as possible and that he can soon get his dream move. The Swiss international, meanwhile, is training alone and is expected to miss the Belgian Super Cup final at the weekend.
