Arsenal have completed the signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea.
There has been a lot of noise about this deal in recent weeks. Not many Arsenal supporters were too keen on him, but Mikel Arteta made it clear that he wanted to sign the England winger.
Arsenal agreed a £52 million deal with Chelsea for Madueke a few days ago, and all formalities have now been completed.
On Friday, the Gunners officially unveiled their new signing, and he seems delighted to join the club.
Declan Rice is no stranger to leaving a London club for Arsenal.
The Englishman joined the Gunners from West Ham United in the summer of 2023, and he has been an excellent player for the club.
Rice knew many of the players at Arsenal from the England national team. He had played with the likes of Bukayo Saka and Ben White and shared a great relationship with them.
Now, the midfielder will have another good friend join Arsenal in Noni Madueke.
After Arsenal confirmed that the winger had joined the club, Madueke took to Instagram and said: “Humbled and blessed to be here. Thank you to everyone that made this possible.
“I can’t wait to get on the pitch and start to repay the faith shown in me. It’s gonna be so special.. God is the greatest. Let’s go Arsenal!”
A very happy Rice replied: “Buzzzzing you’re here!! Let’s go broo!”
A move to a big club like Arsenal is usually very exciting, but things have been a bit difficult for Madueke after reports emerged that he was signing for the Gunners.
A small yet loud section of the Arsenal fan base publicly criticised the player and even started a petition online to stop this move.
Back in 2021, the same section of the Gunners fan base threw a tantrum when Arteta decided to sign Aaron Ramsdale from then-relegated Sheffield United.
The Englishman was still brought to the club, and he ended up becoming a fan favourite at the Emirates thanks to his performances in his first two years there.
We think the same will happen with Madueke in the coming months.
