Liverpool’s pursuit for Chieck Doucoure has reportedly stalled, with the Reds currently in talks with Crystal Palace for the midfielder.
According to RMC Sport, discussions between the two clubs are failing to progress, with Palace believed to want as much as €60m (£52m) for Doucoure this summer.
Liverpool are desperate to sign a fourth and final midfielder having spent big on the position this window, and Doucoure has emerged as a realistic option for the Reds heading into the final week of the market.
However, this update seems to suggest that Liverpool are struggling to reach an agreement with Palace for Doucoure, with talks now at a standstill.
With the window shutting on Friday, time is a valuable resource for Liverpool, and the Reds can’t afford to waste any of it heading into the deadline at the end of this week.
Indeed, Doucoure would be a great signing for Liverpool given what they need in the midfield, and a breakthrough has to be reached with Palace soon if they’re to secure the 23-year-old’s signature.
Time is running out for Liverpool to make a final signing this window, and Doucoure could be an ideal addition for the Reds given what they need in the squad.
The Mali international has Premier League experience and has shown he can do a job against the best of the best in Europe, with Doucoure’s age also a massive selling point.
And for Liverpool, the sooner a breakthrough is made with Palace the better, with the Reds in no position to waste time given what has already happen this summer.
