Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson remains a genuine option for AC Milan in their striker hunt, and they enquired with his agent today.
Milan’s desire to sign a new centre-forward is well-known and their interest in Jackson has long since been established. However, Fabrizio Romano stated on his YouTube channel recently that the costs of the deal made it a dead end.
“We can almost cross Nicolas Jackson’s name off AC Milan’s attacking squad because Chelsea don’t intend to lower his price to an affordable one. The starting value is around €100m, which could even drop to €85-90m, but these are impossible figures for Italian football,” he said.
The SportMediaset and DAZN journalist Orazio Accomando has now provided an update, suggesting that the track leading to Jackson is not dead yet.
In recent hours, there has been direct contact between Milan’s management and Super Agent Ali Barat from Epic Sports, he states. They spoke about Jackson, the striker who is set to leave Chelsea.
It was an exploratory inquiry, following Milan’s initial evaluation of other profiles. They are looking for the right formula, with Jackson included in the shortlist for the Rossoneri’s attack.
Chelsea are not expected to give a discount, at least based on recent reports claiming that they are unhappy with Milan after the way the Mike Maignan situation played out.
