It looked like Victor Eletu’s time at AC Milan was coming to an end, but instead it seems that he will extend his deal after all.

According to a report on Gianluca Di Marzio‘s website, Eletu is ‘surprisingly staying at Milan’. The Nigerian midfielder, born in 2005, had his contract expire last month, but the club believe in him and has reached an agreement with the player over a new deal.

Eletu’s new contract will last two years and will have an option for a third. He will work with Massimo Oddo’s Milan Futuro team in the coming months to regain, after an injury-plagued season, the form he enjoyed two years ago.

During the 2024-25 season, Eletu shed a bit of light on the recovery process from his injury at the time in an interview with Milan TV.

“It’s been a difficult few months because I’ve never been so still. It was hard to manage the situation, but I managed it also thanks to the help of my girlfriend. The goal? I’m very happy, I knew I would score, she asked me to and I was physically fine,” he said.

Now, a major question mark will soon be removed as Eletu should put pen to paper on his new contract, and continue working towards a first-team spot at Milan.
