‘Allegri transforms Leao’, ‘Chelsea try snatch Jashari’

The Italian media are for once largely positive about AC Milan after they ended their preseason tour with a crushing 9-0 win over Perth Glory.

Damage was done in both halves as Milan built a 5-0 lead at the break through goals from Filippo Terracciano, Noah Okafor (x2), Christian Comotto and Samuel Chukwueze. Rafael Leao’s second-half brace either side of goals from Samuele Ricci and Yunus Musah completed the rout.

Of course the standard of opposition – with respect to Perth Glory – is to be taken into account, but the papers paint a positive picture for Allegri’s men.

La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Allegri speaks: ‘My Milan. This group has a lot of quality and the right mindset.’ Nine goals in Australia.”

Corriere dello Sport: “Allegri transforms Leao. Milan, 9-0 against Perth. Rafa shines again: brace.”

Tuttosport: “Milan, a goleada show. Allegri’s stamp is there. 9-0 against Perth, Leao rejuvenated.”

QS: “Watch out, Milan: Chelsea trying to snatch Jashari. A deadlock remains with Club Brugge over the Swiss. Nine goals in a friendly against Perth, Okafor shines.”
