AC Milan have submitted an official offer worth €7m for Zachary Athekame, according to Fabrizio Romano. The 20-year-old Swiss right-back, currently at Young Boys, is reportedly keen on the move, with negotiations between the two clubs now underway.
Milan have been exploring right-back options this summer and view Athekame as a promising, affordable target.
The club had also been tracking Guela Doue, but his €30m price tag made a deal difficult. Athekame, who impressed last season in the Swiss Super League and made appearances in European competitions, is seen as a player with long-term potential.
The Rossoneri are expected to strengthen their full-back depth before the new season kicks off, and Athekame’s profile fits their current strategy of signing young players with room to develop. Talks are ongoing, and Milan are hopeful of reaching an agreement soon.
