AC Milan, this afternoon, have rejected a bid from Olympique Marseille for midfielder Ismael Bennacer, reports from France say.
After forcing through a move to France at the end of the January mercato, it was hoped that the French club would pay the fee included in the loan deal. Instead, they opted not to, and Bennacer returned.
Unfortunately, finding a new club has not been so easy, or at least a suitable one. Milan had agreed a deal with Al Ittihad, though the midfielder did not want to move to Saudi Arabia. So, he is still with the Rossoneri.
Interest in the midfielder is not significant. In fact, it is a struggle to find any suitors for the Algerian. This, perhaps, is why Marseille have attempted a cheeky bid for the midfielder recently.
As French outlet Le10Sport writes, Roberto De Zerbi wants to add to his midfield and wants to continue with Bennacer. The Algerian is supposedly one of the club’s priorities, and an offer was made for him.
Rather than a permanent move, though, they had tried to work out another loan situation. It did not return with a positive result for the French club, though, as Milan rejected the deal.
