TBR Football can reveal that Real Madrid have now told Arsenal and Manchester City target Rodrygo that they will listen to offers for him this month.
Since arriving at Real Madrid in 2019, Rodrygo has gone on to make 270 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring 68 goals and providing 51 assists.
But after winning two Champions League medals with Real, the Brazilian is now working on his options to leave, which include Arsenal and Man City.
As TBR Football has shared throughout the summer, Arsenal have done a lot of work on Rodrygo, whilst City are also long-term admirers.
And it shouldn’t be forgotten that Tottenham have also been keeping tabs on the situation over in the Spanish capital.
That being said, chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Rodrygo’s camp and intermediaries are now holding talks – with a move to England prevailing as by far the most likely option for the 24-year-old.
Turkish giants Fenerbahce are keen on Rodrygo, but the Brazilian looks destined for the Premier League.
And in terms of joining either Arsenal or Man City this summer, Bailey understands that the winger would be keen to join both.
He explained: “Rodrygo has been told the situation – Real love him but they are ready to move on, and the player is in full agreement with them, he also believes that the situation needs resolving.
“My understanding is that Arsenal and City are very much leading the case, both clubs really appeal to him – they are both Champions League contenders and look like a good fit.”
TBR Football previously shared that Rodrygo would consider a move to Spurs were an approach made, another English side who have qualified for Europe’s top competition.
Just like several other Brazilians linked with a move to or from the Premier League, Rodrygo is keen to impress this season ahead of the World Cup.
Rodrygo wants to add to his 33 caps and seven goals for Brazil next summer, and he is aware that he needs to be playing regularly at club level in order to do so.
In terms of joining either Arsenal or City, it’s understood that Rodrygo is not afraid of the competition that already exists at either side.
And given that Tottenham want to sign Savinho from City and Arsenal have long been searching for a left-winger, both sides do have space for a new forward.
Bailey insists that Rodrygo is a name that English football fans will be talking about a lot in the final few weeks of the transfer window.
And in that regard, Rodrygo has already named his dream club.
