The Gunners have been in talks to sign Eze for some time and have already agreed personal terms but have not completed the transfer as they first need to offload players.
This opened the door to Tottenham to hijack the deal but The Guardian reports that Eze is still prioritising a move to Arsenal.
Eze to Arsenal or Tottenham
The next 48 hours will be crucial in this deal, though, as Eze’s release clause of around €78 million expires on Friday.
After this date, Palace will be able to increase Eze’s asking price, which could affect whether both Arsenal and Spurs continue to push for the player.
FootballTransfers revealed on Saturday that Arsenal were close to settling on a fee with Palace.
Tottenham are having a busy end to the transfer window as they are also in talks with Man City over the signing of Savinho.
They need reinforcements offensively after the ACL injury to James Maddison.
Eze, who famously scored the winner in the FA Cup final against Man City, has become one of the Premier League’s most admired players in recent years.
He has played for Palace for five years, scoring 39 goals in 166 games.
He is expected to leave Palace this summer in order to make the next step up.
Eze has been capped 11 times by England, scoring one goal. He played at Euro 2024.
