Report: Bukayo Saka is better than Mohamed Salah – Ally McCoist

Arsenal fans are excited as the dawn of the new Premier League season is finally upon us.

Mikel Arteta’s side travel to Old Trafford in a tough opening fixture, where Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United side have recruited well in attacking areas over the summer.

Paul Merson thinks Arsenal will win the Premier League this season and finally end the club’s 22-year wait to become champions of England once again.

If the Gunners are to achieve that feat, Bukayo Saka will no doubt play a huge part and pundit Ally McCoist has already given him the edge over Mohamed Salah in one vital aspect of the game.

Speaking to TNT Sports, McCoist was asked which player he believes has ‘got the most fuel in the tank’ ahead of the new Premier League season.

McCoist’s response was emphatic when he answered: ‘Saka’ and given that the Hale End star has finally had a full summer break and pre-season, he is hard to argue with.

Merson believes Saka is vital for Arsenal this season and has named him alongside Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Odegaard as players that can win the league for the Gunners.

It was an injury-hit campaign for the 23-year-old last season, however, he still managed to hit double figures in both goals and assists.

That was in spite of him missing over three months with a hamstring injury that required surgery. We may be seeing a different Bukayo Saka this season – one that is even hungrier to deliver.

Speaking on the same interview, McCoist has also named Ethan Nwaneri as his pick for the young player who will have the biggest impact this season.

Nwaneri committed his future to Arsenal by signing a new long-term contract this summer and is now hoping to cement his place firmly in Arteta’s plans.

The 18-year-old already proved that he knows where the goal is last season and scored in some big games, including Manchester City at home in the league.

He will now be hoping for further opportunities to showcase his talents and look to push that goal contribution in double figures.
