Arsenal look to have been handed a double transfer boost to Mikel Arteta’s hopes of bringing in a seventh summer signing. Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Cristhian Mosquera and Christian Norgaard have all been signed thus far which has made exits the priority.
No senior player has departed Emirates Stadium on a permanent basis yet and that will be key to further incomings being sanctioned. Unfortunately, Arsenal do not have many sellable assets but interest is starting to develop in some fringe players.
Leandro Trossard is one of those with it possible Aston Villa now formally pursue a deal having accepted two attacking exits. That switch and a few others going through may result in a wide forward joining with one of those – who was linked to Arsenal earlier in the window – now back on the market.
Lookman green light
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Inter are expected to inform the agent of Ademola Lookman that a deal to sign him from Atalanta is off. He added that negotiations have not moved in the slightest over the last two weeks.
The Nigeria international departing Bergamo remains likely and that could open the door for a move to Arsenal with Atalanta wanting around £43million to sell.
What an opportunity this is for Arsenal and it is certainly an unexpected one considering how set Lookman was on joining Inter.
