Arsenal’s imminent capture of Eberechi Eze has already been immortalised in artwork, with renowned street artist and Arsenal fan Northbanksy unveiling a striking mural of the Crystal Palace playmaker outside the Emirates Stadium.
The piece, which appeared overnight near the Danny Fiszman Bridge, portrays the 27-year-old in his trademark celebration pose wearing Arsenal’s iconic red and white shirt.
Its unveiling comes just hours after The Athletic’s David Ornstein confirmed that Eze had agreed personal terms with the Gunners following a £68 million deal in principle with Palace. The transfer is set to be finalised after Palace’s UEFA Conference League play-off against Fredrikstad.
Northbanksy, a North London-based artist best known for his bold Arsenal-themed creations, has previously produced tributes to club legends such as Ian Wright and David Rocastle. His latest work reflects the excitement surrounding Eze’s return to Arsenal, where he spent time in the youth system before being released as a teenager.
Fans have praised the mural on social media, calling it a “fitting welcome” for the England international, who scored 40 goals in 169 appearances for Palace. Eze’s flair and versatility are expected to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s frontline alongside new arrivals Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke as the Gunners prepare for a Premier League title push this season.
The mural joins a series of large-scale artworks commissioned around the Emirates in 2023, which turned the stadium into an outdoor gallery celebrating Arsenal’s past and present. Northbanksy’s contribution adds to that legacy, capturing the anticipation of Eze’s homecoming and the optimism it brings to the red half of North London.
Arteta is expected to address the signing in his pre-match press conference on Friday, ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Leeds United this weekend.
