Report: Crystal Palace considering £30m move for Arsenal outcast…see more

Jakub Kiwior’s Arsenal future looks increasingly uncertain, with CaughtOffside reporting that Everton, Wolves and Crystal Palace are all showing interest in the Polish centre-back.

The latest of the clubs to have been linked are Crystal Palace. A deal there would make a lot of sense given the pending transfer of Eberechi Eze going the other way. Arsenal have a good relationship with Palace and are willing to let Kiwior leave for the right price, whilst Palace themselves are desperate for some reinforcements and a left-footed centre back is high on their list.

The 25-year-old was left out of the squad entirely for Arsenal’s clash with Manchester United on Sunday, a telling sign given the competition for places at the back. With summer arrival Cristhian Mosquera now providing depth alongside Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel, Kiwior has slipped further down Mikel Arteta’s pecking order.

FC Porto have also been strongly linked with a move for Kiwior, but it goes without saying that the Gunners are more likely to obtain a higher fee if they can sell him to a Premier League club.

Kiwior proved himself to be a solid deputy last season, especially when Gabriel was injured, but there is a growing sense that Arsenal cannot afford to keep such a valuable asset sidelined. Signed for around £20million in 2023, his current valuation is closer to £30million – meaning the Gunners would be well-placed to turn a profit if they cash in now.

It feels like the right moment to make a decision. Kiwior has shown he can perform at Premier League level, and there’s no shortage of clubs willing to give him that platform. But with Arteta now reshaping his defensive options, his pathway to regular football at the Emirates looks blocked.

From an Arsenal perspective, the logic is simple: you can’t let a £30million player sit outside the matchday squad, his value could plummet this season if so. If offers arrive at the expected price point, it would be smart business to take the profit and reinvest into other areas of the squad.
