Arsenal plan to accept offers for two of their senior stars before the transfer window closes in order to balance their books and pave the way for yet another marquee signing, sources have told Football Insider.
Both Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko are expected to be sold to help trim the squad, as well as bring in some more funds.
The Gunners have already spent well over £200million this summer, adding the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, and Eberechi Eze.
Now, Arsenal are working on signing Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie, and a deal for the defender could be completed if the North London side manage to offload some of their unwanted players.
Last month (22 July), former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown claimed that Kiwior is interested in leaving Arsenal in search of first-team football.
The Gunners have already rejected an approach by FC Porto for the out-of-favour defender, which was packaged as a loan deal with a mandatory buy clause.
However, sources say that Porto are preparing another offer for Kiwior, with Arsenal valuing the Poland international at around £25m
In terms of Zinchenko, his Emirates exit has looked certain all summer, with interest from AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, and the North London side will hope to sell the left-back before the window closes.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United won’t consider any transfer bids for either Anthony Gordon or Bruno Guimaraes this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed in May that Arsenal were interested in a move for Gordon this summer, but their transfer activity has taken a different course after Newcastle qualified for the Champions League.
The Magpies are adamant that the winger will remain at the club beyond the end of the transfer window.
However, Arteta’s side could still be in the market for another wide option, despite the signing of Eze from Crystal Palace.
