The transfer window in England may be well and truly closed but Saudi Arabian clubs can still purchase players for another two days, and that means rumours about Mohamed Salah’s future will persist.

Indeed, it appears as though a delegation from Al Ittihad are set on making a final £200m effort to sign the Egypt star from Liverpool, we’ll have all the latest in his future.

We’ll also have injury news after Trent Alexander-Arnold pulled out of the England squad and Ibrahima Konate was withdrawn from the French national squad.

Henderson speaks out

Jordan Henderson has spoken out on his decision to leave Liverpool this summer, insisting he no longer felt “wanted” by the club.

The Reds’ captain signed for Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq, in a move that surprised the football community, and has now addressed his decision to leave the club.

Speaking to the Athletic as part of a wide-ranging interview, Henderson said:

There were a few things that sent alarm bells ringing. I’ve got a very good relationship with Jurgen. He was very honest with me. I won’t go into detail about the conversation because it’s private, but it put me in a position where I knew that I wasn’t going to be playing as much. I knew there were going to be new players coming in my position.

Now, that’s not to say that they forced me out of the club or they were saying they wanted me to leave but at no point did I feel wanted by the club or anyone to stay.”

Saudi delegation ‘arrive in London’

A Saudi Arabian delegation reportedly arrived in London on Saturday in an attempt to intensify their efforts of signing Mohamed Salah.

The Daily Mail have reported the Saudis will ‘push their offer’ close to £200million as Al-Ittihad look to land their main target.

Liverpool have consistently taken the stance that Salah is not for sale, with Jurgen Klopp echoing this sentiment whenever questioned on the matter.

Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold withdraws from England squad as injury timeframe emerges

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has withdrawn from England’s squad for their September matches against Ukraine and Scotland due to injury.

The defender picked up a hamstring injury during the second-half of his side’s 3-0 Premier League victory over Aston Villa at Anfield on Sunday afternoon. Speaking in his post-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp revealed Alexander-Arnold was optimistic the problem wasn’t a serious one.

He said: “I don’t know exactly. I asked him, he said it’s [his] hamstring. Not too serious, is his opinion, but we obviously have to wait for the scans, and then we will know more.”

But despite initially joining up with Gareth Southgate’s side at St. George’s Park on Monday, Alexander-Arnold has now taken the decision to withdraw from the squad. The Reds vice-captain was said to be under consideration to play in central areas during the fixture against Ukraine.
