‘Unbelievable’ player to be absent from Liverpool’s lineup against LASK

Liverpool are making a good call in resting Alexander-Arnold

Trent Alexander-Arnold will reportedly not be fit enough to feature for Liverpool tomorrow night against LASK in the UEFA Europa League.

According to the Athletic’s James Pearce, the Reds vice-captain will be rested ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash against West Ham on Sunday.

The Liverpool journalist said: “Hopefully Trent will be back for West Ham on Sunday, he won’t feature against LASK on Thursday.”

Alexander-Arnold suffered a hamstring injury in Liverpool’s 3-0 win against Aston Villa, forcing the defender to miss England’s international fixtures against Ukraine and Scotland.

Although the 24-year-old returning for tomorrow night’s Europa League opener would be a massive boost, resting Alexander-Arnold is ideally for the best.

Lauded by Luke Shaw as ‘unbelievable’, Liverpool will want every player fresh for the Premier League, especially with the stakes in the Europa League yet to reach a boiling point.

Alexander-Arnold will be gutted to miss out on a key European fixture, but with this Sunday’s clash against West Ham more important, keeping the defender fully fit is a good decision from Liverpool.

The Reds will want every able body on deck for the Irons’ visit to Anfield this weekend, and Alexander-Arnold will be key in Liverpool maintaining their unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Moreover, resting Alexander-Arnold for one more game could be the difference in the defender returning fully fit or suffering a setback.
