Pep Lijnders has praised Mohamed Salah’s attitude towards Liverpool training, with the winger always early to sessions at Kirkby.
Speaking to the press, the Dutch coach lauded the 31-year-old attacker for the example Salah has been setting to younger players in training as a mentor and leader.
Salah has enjoyed a sensational start to the season with Liverpool despite immense transfer speculation, with the forward strongly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.
Such rumours seemingly haven’t stopped Salah from being as professional as possible, though, with the attacker still turning up to training early and setting an example to all at the club.
And Lijnders has been impressed, with the Liverpool assistant saying: “He’s breaking record after record. He’s a mentor, a leader. I see him in the gym, I see him coming in early.
“I see a real professional and a man who can lead this team without being the captain. It’s special that he’s with us. We should cherish these players.”
Salah’s form on the pitch has been something to behold every since the attacker joined the Reds, and Lijnders’ comments only scratch the surface on the winger’s impact at Liverpool.
Arriving early for training and putting in 110% has been a key cornerstone to Salah’s success at Anfield, and the winger has set a clear example to those around him on how to succeed at Liverpool.
Indeed, Salah leaving Liverpool would be a disaster given how much the club would lose, and few would be able to replicate what the winger does behind the scenes at Kirkby.
