Christopher Nkunku has sent a message to his Chelsea team-mates after their dominant win against Burnley in the Premier League. The Blues had to come from behind to secure back-to-back away wins and they did so in style with Raheem Sterling, Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson all on target.
Wilson Odobert gave Burnley the lead in the early stages but Chelsea responded well and were soon level with Sterling seeing his cross turned into his own net by Ameen Al Dakhil before he was upended in the penalty box that allowed Palmer to score his first Chelsea goal from the penalty spot in the 50th minute.
With Reece James, Benoit Badiashile and Carney Chukwuemeka all taken off the injury report with the latter in the matchday squad, Chelsea will be hoping a major injury blow doesn’t counteract the triple boost they received in the week. Another star currently absent is Nkunku with the France international picking up a serious knee injury during pre-season which means he is yet to play a competitive game for the Blues.
However, he is slowly making progress towards a return and praised the display of his team-mates on social media. Reposting Chelsea’s full time graphic on his Instagram story, Nkunku wrote: “Big win!! [heart eyes emoji and green tick emoji]”.
