Arsenal transfer news: Gunners ‘ready’ for offers from three European clubs for out-of-favour defender…see more

Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko has reportedly emerged as a target for three European clubs.

Zinchenko is on the lookout for a new club after settling for just eight starts in 23 appearances across all competitions last term.

In his autobiography, Believe, the Ukraine international admitted that the 2024-25 campaign was the toughest season of his career.

As relayed by The Athletic, Zinchenko said: “I was basically out of the starting XI altogether, bar a few isolated matches. In pure personal terms, it was easily the worst season I ever experienced as a professional.”

Three European clubs targeting Zinchenko

Zinchenko went on to add: “But going from one of the established players of the side to an unused sub is much harder to deal with.

“The sense of rejection you feel if your manager no longer believes in you can take the stuffing out of you, even if you’re the most resilient guy on the planet.”

According to Caught Offside, three European clubs could offer Zinchenko a way out of Arsenal before the end of the summer transfer window.

Portuguese giants Porto, Turkish side Fenerbahce, and Spanish outfit Real Betis are all showing an interest in adding Zinchenko to their respective squads.

The report claims that Arsenal are ‘ready to consider’ proposals for a player who has entered the final 12 months of his contract.

The Gunners will be keen to obtain a small fee for Zinchenko this summer rather than let him walk away from nothing at the end of the season.

Mikel Arteta does not view Zinchenko as a key part of his plans, with the Arsenal boss able to call upon Myles Lewis-Skelly and Riccardo Calafiori as his main left-back options.

From the player’s perspective, there is a belief that he would need to be ‘really sold’ on a project before he commits to leaving the club this summer.

Alternatively, the defender could decide to see out the final year of his Arsenal contract before exploring the market as a free agent in 2026.
