World Boxing has issued an apology to the Algerian Boxing Federation saying it was not correct to name boxer Imane Khelif in an announcement that makes gender testing mandatory. The sporting body had earlier issued a statement, announcing that it was making gender testing compulsory to determine the eligibility of male and female athletes wanting to take part in its competitions. World Boxing said it had informed the Algerian Boxing Federation Khelif would have to undergo the test if she wanted to compete at the Eindhoven Box Cup in the Netherlands on June 5-10. This drew sharp reaction from the…
An ex-Arsenal academy footballer has been jailed for four years for his involvement in a £600,000 drug smuggling plot after a court heard his financial difficulties after a period out of contract led to a “catastrophic error of judgment”. Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was arrested after officers from the National Crime Agency seized an estimated £600,000 of cannabis as it was being brought through Stansted Airport by two women he had recruited – his girlfriend and her friend. An earlier hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court in Essex was told the women believed they were importing gold. But Border Force officers detected roughly…
Manuel Locatelli has revealed that he spoke to Massimiliano Allegri after he found out that he had taken the AC Milan job. When it comes to Locatelli and Allegri, there is a lot of intertwining with Milan and Juventus. The midfielder began in Milan’s academy and scored his most notable goal against the Bianconeri – a winner in the 2016-17 season – and that was against an Allegri team. Then, the pair got to work together at Juve, as they bought Locatelli from Sassuolo where he went after leaving Milan. They would win silverware together, before Allegri left following the…
The day has arrived: AC Milan’s fixture list for the 2025-26 Serie A season will be officially revealed by the Lega tonight. Obviously it goes without saying that Milan will be hoping for a vast improvement after a disastrous 2024-25 campaign. It saw them finish in eighth, their lowest league placing since 2014-15, and they missed out on any European competition. With the hopes that a dire season will fade into distant memory in a similar way, there have already been some big moves made before June began. Igli Tare was appointed sporting director and Massimiliano Allegri the head coach,…
Another report has confirmed that AC Milan are interested in signing Mateo Retegui from Atalanta, but it will not be an easy deal. It was Sky’s Gianluca Di Marzio who reported last night that Milan are keen on Retegui. They are looking for a guaranteed goal scorer to put alongside Santiago Gimenez, amid the uncertainty over Luka Jovic and the need to be patient with Francesco Camarda. With the possibility of the Serbian leaving for Mexico or Brazil and Tammy Abraham returning to Roma, Calciomercato.com also confirm that the Rossoneri are interested in signing Retegui. The Atalanta striker was the…

Italy’s journey in the World Cup qualifiers started in the worst possible way, with the Azzurri losing 3-0 in Norway and looking tragically similar to the team eliminated at the Euros last summer. Donnarumma 6 – One save at the near post in the opening minutes. Couldn’t do much to avoid Norway’s goals. Di Lorenzo 4 – The whole defensive department was disjointed, and Di Lorenzo made way too many wrong decisions. It must be pretty clear now that he may not be a good fit in a three-man defence. Coppola 5 – Given the toughest possible debut against Haaland. The Verona defender…
Luca Marchetti, journalist and transfer market expert, spoke live on Sky Sport 24. His words were all about Milan’s summer transfer market, which is still in the works and is focused on scouting, but with one big name already confirmed: Luka Modric. It is an incredibly busy time with regards to AC Milan’s transfer business, and Mike Maignan could be heading out of the exit door. The big news on Wednesday morning is that Manchester City have agreed a €70m deal to sign Tijjani Reijnders from Milan. However, it is highly likely that he will not be the only ‘big name’ to leave before 2025-26. Rumours erupted on Tuesday stating that Maignan is in the sights of Premier League clubs, above all Chelsea, amid the career crossroads that has arrived given he has just one year left on his deal.
