Chelsea have been handed a major boost to their hopes of signing Kylian Mbappe this summer – but there’s one issue. The 24-year-old forward faces an increasingly uncertain future in the French capital at the moment, with his contract at Paris Saint-Germain set to expire in 12-months. According to Spanish outlet Sport, Mbappe is willing to test himself at Stamford Bridge on the basis that he signs one-year deal, granting him the freedom to explore his options at the end of next season. However, the report states that this does not suit the Blues, who would like to tie the…
Liverpool might be having a more chaotic summer than it is used to, but it can draw plenty of comfort from a glance around the rest of the Big Six. Generously continuing to include Chelsea in that group, Todd Boehly has already had to oversee a transfer fire sale to get inside Financial Fair Play rules, losing Mason Mount in the process. In terms of incomings, Moisés Caicedo is proving difficult to land. Meanwhile, just like at Liverpool, the rise of the Saudi league has been felt at Manchester City, where stalwart Riyad Mahrez has been sold. İlkay Gündoğan has…
Manchester United are closing in on the £72million deal with Atalanta that will see Rasmus Hojlund join the club. Adding a new No 9 has been a priority for Erik ten Hag in recent weeks and the Red Devils look to have got their man after prolonged negotiations. Liverpool meanwhile continue to miss out on one of their targets with Southampton holding firm on their Romeo Lavia valuation. It could force Jurgen Klopp to look elsewhere as the seasons nears. Bayern Munich continue to pursue Harry Kane and there is growing optimism that a deal can be achieved as talks…
Liverpool are considering a move for Brazilian midfielder, Andre, as the Reds struggle to make progress in a deal for Southampton’s Romeo Lavia. Elsewhere, former midfield target Aurelien Tchouameni has reportedly been made available for transfer by Real Madrid, while there are new claims over the future of Moises Caicedo.
Gabriel Jesus will miss Arsenal’s game against Monaco in the Emirates Cup after sustaining a knee issue. Jesus, 26, has been in excellent form during pre-season so far, but will not feature as the Gunners prepare to host the Ligue 1 side in north London. Eddie Nketiah has been given the nod up front, with Folarin Balogun also not included in the squad as he is recovering from an injury. Gabriel Martinelli and Fabio Viera are set to start alongside Nketiah in a front-three as Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard settle for a place on the bench. Declan Rice is, however, named in the XI for…
Aaron Ramsdale: Probably lucky not to concede right at the beginning of the second half when Ben Yedder hit the post but that wasn’t his fault. Well positioned when called upon. Goal kicks could do with a little more variety though. Saved a penalty in the shootout to earn hero status for the day! 6. William Saliba: Came off too early to get a second half rating. n/a. Jakub Kiwior: Switched back out to right centre back and did OK there too. Seems as though he’ll have a much more important role going into next season after taking a while to get going in his…
Arsenal look ready to confirm five more transfers before the season begins next week, as they prepare their squad for another title challenge. The Gunners play Treble winners Manchester City in the traditional curtain opener this weekend, with their final preseason friendly coming tonight against Monaco in the Emirates Cup. Arsene Wenger will be a guest of honour, with a statue of the Frenchman recently unveiled outside the Emirates Stadium. But though Arsenal conducted their incomings early and were able to take all three marquee summer signings Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber on their preseason tour of the United States, there is…
Updates on Andre, Romeo Lavia, Aurelien Tchouameni, and other players are included in the latest Liverpool transfer news, rumours, gossip, and conjecture. Liverpool are considering a move for Brazilian midfielder, Andre, as the Reds struggle to make progress in a deal for Southampton’s Romeo Lavia. Elsewhere, former midfield target Aurelien Tchouameni has reportedly been made available for transfer by Real Madrid.
After Lesley Ugochukwu’s signing was officially announced today, Mauricio Pochetinno, the new manager of Chelsea, provided an update on the player. The midfielder was acquired for 27 million euros on a seven-year contract with an option to extend it by another year from French club Stade Rennais. He fills a critical position that the squad was in dire need of filling before his arrival: defensive midfield. The 19-year-old, who is also the nephew of former Nigerian center-back Onyekachi Akpam, is eligible to play for the Nigerian National Team but has already represented France at various youth levels. Coach Pochettino stated…
Lukaku returned to Stamford Bridge for a second spell in 2021, with the Blues forking out £97.5 million to sign him from Inter Milan. However, he scored just eight goals and headed back to Inter Milan on loan after becoming unhappy in west London. Lukaku found himself back to Chelsea after Champions League finalists Inter elected against snapping up permanently, but he was not part of the pre-season tour in the United States. Although contracted until 2026, Lukaku is not part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans and they are looking to offload him. And they could end up getting…
