Luis Diaz: The midfielder for Liverpool is still missing, and his parents were abducted in Colombia.
Liverpool midfielder Luis Diaz’s parents were kidnapped in Colombia after being stopped by gunmen on motorbikes. His mother was later rescued but his father remains missing. Cilenis Marulanda was rescued by police in the city of Barrancas, Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro said. “In a padlock operation in Barrancas, Luis Diaz’s mother has been rescued, we continue the search for the father,” the President tweeted. Meanwhile, the country’s police director, General William Salamanca, said he is using every agent to find Diaz’s father. The 26-year-old Colombian international’s parents were reportedly kidnapped as they drove to their home. Early reports suggest they…
Jude Bellingham scored an incredible equaliser and a 92nd-minute winner to help Real Madrid come from behind to beat rivals Barcelona on his first El Clasico appearance. Ilkay Gundogan’s first Barca goal had put the hosts ahead after six minutes. But Bellingham smashed a sensational leveller in the 68th minute, finding the top corner from 30 yards out. The England midfielder then netted an injury-time volley to continue his fairytale start to his Real career. Bellingham, 20, now has 14 goals in 16 matches for club and country this season. Los Blancos’ win meant they moved above Girona on goal…
Liverpool Football Club can confirm it is aware of an ongoing situation involving the family of Luis Diaz in Colombia. It is our fervent hope that the matter is resolved safely and at the earliest possible opportunity. In the meantime, the player’s welfare will continue to be our immediate priority.
Real Madrid might not have a perfect squad but they are certainly finding ways to make up for it on the pitch. Los Blancos got their biggest win of the season so far, winning 2-1 away to FC Barcelona. The result leaves them four points ahead of Xavi’s side. Surprisingly, Girona are keeping up the pace and are second just based on goal difference. Atletico Madrid will have the same number of points as the table topper as well if they win their two games in hand. The mathematics of the matter can wait. It is time for Real Madrid…
The England international, who has started his Madrid career in remarkable goalscoring form, unleashed a rocket into the top corner from distance after Ilkay Gundogan had sent hosts Barcelona ahead at the Olympic Stadium. Bellingham then fired home a second in stoppage time to silence Barcelona fans and reach 10 goals in the top flight this season. Barcelona hit the woodwork twice and had the better of the game but Bellingham, La Liga’s top goalscorer, is in unstoppable form and inevitably made his mark in his first Clasico. Bellingham’s brace sent Madrid to the top of La Liga, ahead of…
Liverpool transfer target Andre has been discussing his future after months of being linked with a move to Anfield. The Fluminense midfielder is currently preparing for the Copa Libertadores final with his club, which will take place against Boca Juniors on November 4. Elsewhere, Victor Osimhen has moved to clarify his stance on his current situation after being linked with an exit from Napoli. The Reds have been mentioned as one of the clubs reportedly interested in the Nigerian forward. We will also be building up to today’s Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest at Anfield, which kicks-off at 2pm…
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has commented on midfielder Judge Bellingham’s display during his side’s La Liga El Clasico 2-1 win over Barcelona on Saturday. A brace from Bellingham ensured Real Madrid defeated Barcelona, as Ilkay Gundogan’s goal was not enough for Xavi’s side. The victory moved Ancelotti’s side to the top of the La Liga table with four points ahead of third-placed Barcelona and ahead of second-placed Girona on goal difference. Speaking about Bellingham’s display, Ancelotti said at his post-match press conference: “We are surprised, especially with his level and his effectiveness. He comes from the second line. Today,…
A furious Ilkay Gundogan ripped into his FC Barcelona teammates for their lack of concern following a tough defeat to Real Madrid in El Clasico, as shown in a mixed zone interview shared on social media. The Catalans went a goal up in the tie after Gundogan scored an early opener. They were then the best side for a good 60 minutes, despite fielding a depleted XI beset by injuries to key stars including Pedri and Frenkie de Jong. Slowly but surely, however, the visiting Los Blancos took over the tie at the Montjuic Stadium. A stunning double completed by Jude…
It wasn’t the Camp Nou. Mick Jagger was in the presidential box and not Florentino Perez. The Rolling Stones’ tongue logo was on the Barcelona shirt. The strangest Clasico in recent years was also the weakest. Barcelona and Real Madrid offered a match that disappointed from all points of view and that Los Blancos won was because they now have the best footballer in the world in their ranks. Jude Bellingham saved Ancelotti after a forgettable first 60 minutes and an approach that would have been roundly criticized had the game ended in defeat. Camavinga staying on the bench makes no sense. You can see this by…
