That is according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri. Tavolieri reported on Twitter last night that Chelsea have agreed a £50million deal to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia. It is understood the Blues could offer the Saints star a five-year deal with the option of a further year. The 19-year-old has already said goodbye to some teammates at St Mary’s, too. He added that Chelsea have moved to jump ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign Lavia, but it’s not totally unrealistic that the latter could return with a fresh move of their own. On top of that, journalist Ben Jacobs…

It’s a new day, a new season, and practically a brand new Chelsea. There’s been massive turnover in the squad — and we’re not done yet, not by a long shot! — and of course there’s a new head coach in charge as well. The challenges, however, remain very much the same. Thankfully, much of the activity was concluded earlier in the window already, and Pochettino has had a fairly consistent squad to work with so far. Our preseason tour was largely a success (injuries aside) and the vibes have ben quite positive (especially outside of the transfer-drama bubble). Pochettino…

Now it has been claimed that Chelsea are nearing an agreement with the Saints for Lavia. Belgium-based reporter Sachia Tavolieri has suggested that the London side are willing to pay up…

It has been a rollercoaster 36 hours or so in the transfer market, with Liverpool and Chelsea being the main story. The Reds are not usually involved in public sagas, but this has represented that can reasonably be described as that and then some. Moisés Caicedo is the man at the center of the tussle. In a very shortened version of the full story, Liverpool initially looked to have stolen a march and become the favorite, only for Chelsea to emerge as the player’s preferred option. (You can read the longer version by clicking here, which also includes plenty on…

After a manic day on Friday, journalist Sacha Tavolieri reported on Twitter that the Blues had almost found a £55m agreement with Southampton for Lavia. “Agreement between CFC & Saints FC now close to 52M£ + 3M£ add-ons,” Tavolieri says. “Not a done deal yet as it left some extra information to be exchanged tomorrow even if Soton accepted the fee as revealed this evening. “Blues wants to extend the number of contract years from 5 to 7 years contract + one year option as for Lesley Ugochukwu. “Been told Chelsea FC wants to anticipate a possibly last minute hijack from Liverpool…

Moises Caicedo has had his sights set on a Brighton exit for a long, long time. The Ecuador international came close to departing the Amex for Arsenal in January, only for the Seagulls to reject two bids with the second worth £70m. The 21-year-old would release a statement on social media begging the club to let him leave, only to sign an improved contract in March after such pleas were ignored. Chelsea were also interested at the time and have been courting him ever since, resulting in four rejected bids, with the highest totalling £80m, as Brighton held out for…

Despite Liverpool’s triple-figure bid, Chelsea were still confident they could sign Caicedo and a new bid is now being prepared which will be a drastic improvement on their last few offers. According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, the offer could be as high…

Liverpool are facing more potential disappointment in the transfer market as Chelsea threaten to snatch Moises Caicedo from under their noses, an issue that is becoming a familiar irritation for Jurgen Klopp. The Reds thought they had pulled off a transfer coup when they agreed a £110million fee with Brighton for the midfielder in the early hours of Friday morning, only for their Premier League rivals to make a last-gasp attempt to beat their offer.
