AC Milan are expected to have two new starters in the full-back positions for next season, and it could see the balance shift. As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) recall, Milan in the last few years have leaned to the left, with Theo Hernandez leader of a flank that – with Rafael Leao – became known for explosive runs, clever combinations and of course goals. From next season the club will review its convictions: with the trust withdrawn from Theo, they will look for new leaders, perhaps on the other side of the field. Hernandez seems to have convinced…
AC Milan are looking at the centre-back market, with a ‘dream’ target established and two potential alternatives in mind. There has been talk of the possibility of a return to Germany for Malick Thiaw in the past few weeks, to replace Jonathan Tah who moved to Bayern Munich on a free transfer. However, the fact that they are close to landing another target makes the move a lot more unlikely. It has also been reported that Massimiliano Allegri likes him and would like to try to relaunch him at the start of his second Rossoneri spell. That does not rule…
Outlets in Italy are reporting that Theo Hernandez has agreed a set of personal terms and has given his approval over a lucrative move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, despite his having rejected their initial approach earlier this month. According to reports from Alfredo Pedulla, Gianluca Di Marzio and Sky Sport Italia, Theo Hernandez has now ‘said yes’ to Simone Inzaghi’s Al-Hilal, which could bring the end of his six-year spell with the Rossoneri. Theo has reportedly been offered a multi-year contract worth around €20m per season in wages, which has increased from the €18m-per-season offer that he rejected…
Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal are in advanced negotiations with AC Milan to sign Theo Hernández for a fee close to €30 million ($34.6m), sources have told ESPN. The French international was reportedly under consideration by Atlético Madrid, but negotiations fell through. Sources told ESPN that all indications are he will continue his career in Saudi Arabia. A source admitted to ESPN that the 27-year-old full-back had some doubts about a move to Al Hilal, but added that negotiations are progressing well, with some minor details still pending.
AC Milan winger, Rafael Leao has named Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the two best players he has played alongside with in his career. The Portuguese star is currently an international team-mate with Ronaldo. Leao was also a former team-mate with Ibrahimovic during when the former Sweden striker was playing for AC Milan. When asked to name the best team-mates he ever had in his career, Leao said in a recent interview with the fashion magazine L’Officiel as quoted by Desporto AO Minuto: “Not one, but two. “Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo,” he stated. Ronaldo, 40, is currently playing…
The date 18 May 1994 is etched in AC Milan’s history book perhaps deeper than any other, as they stunned not only Barcelona but the footballing world. The 1994 European Cup final took place at the Olympic Stadium in Athens, Greece. Barcelona were the big favourites coming into the game having won LaLiga for the fourth consecutive year, and they were aiming to win the top continental competition for a second time in three seasons. Milan were still a force to be reckoned with but they approached the game in chaos. Iconic striker Marco van Basten and the world’s most…
Arsenal are reportedly open to selling Oleksandr Zinchenko this summer, with AC Milan emerging as a potential destination for the Ukrainian international. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Gunners would be willing to sanction the 28-year-old’s departure if a bid in the region of £17 million is received. Zinchenko joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022 in a deal worth around £30 million, reuniting with former City assistant Mikel Arteta. Over three seasons at the Emirates, the versatile left-back has become a key figure in the dressing room, although silverware has remained elusive. However, the emergence of academy star Myles…
Arsenal are already making significant progress behind the scenes when it comes to landing their top transfer targets this summer. New Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is working tirelessly behind the scenes to find the right striker, the optimum left winger and so on. Of course, Arsenal have already signed Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, but there’s a lot of work to be done before Mikel Arteta’s side can genuinely compete for the Premier League title. Kai Havertz is capable of leading a title challenge but he’ll certainly need help, and Arsenal seem to have decided that his new partner…
With Martin Zubimendi already on the way, Arsenal have also now reportedly held positive talks to sign a defensive target over Liverpool who’s worth more than £40m. A year on from deciding to stay at Real Sociedad instead of joining Liverpool, Zubimendi is finally set to become a Premier League player. But it’s Arsenal who have reason to celebrate. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners have now completed all the paperwork and the Spaniard will become an Arsenal player for a fee around the €65m (£58m) mark. Zubimendi could yet have the task of replacing Thomas Partey in Mikel Arteta’s…
Arsenal could strike gold by replacing Thomas Partey with one player who has already schooled the Gunners. Partey is expected to leave Arsenal this summer at the expiration of his contract. Despite having a contract that expires in 2025, the midfielder’s departure is set to come as a surprise, as Mikel Arteta was desperate to keep him. Arsenal offered Partey a new deal, but it’s understood that the 32-year-old’s wage demands differ from what the Gunners are willing to offer at this stage of his career. Martin Zubimendi is coming in as Andrea Berta’s first signing as Arsenal’s sporting director,…
