The Los Angeles Lakers began their last extended road trip of the regular season on Monday night, taking on the Orlando Magic at Kia Center. After losing to the Magic on a buzzer-beater early in the season, the Lakers were looking to return to the favor and get back on track with a win. Ultimately, they weren’t able to do that as a bad third quarter was the difference for the Lakers in a 118-106 defeat. Coming off a disappointing loss at home, the Lakers were playing with a purpose early in this one, jumping out to a 7-2 lead…
The Lakers fell apart in the second half, leading to a 118-106 Orlando Magic win. This marks L.A.’s third loss in a row. Luka Dončić scored 21 of his 32 points in the first half. He also ended with seven rebounds and seven assists. LeBron James had 24 points to go with his six rebounds and eight assists. Austin Reaves pitched in with 18 points, six rebounds and four assists. Dorian Finney-Smith scored 14 points with seven rebounds and two steals. The bench scored an abysmal 14 points. After a slow start, the Lakers went on a 7-0 run to…
Luka Doncic scored 32 points and LeBron James added 24 and eight assists for the Lakers, who led 60-58 at half-time. However, Orlando outscored the visitors 34-18 in the third quarter and went on to wrap up a 118-106 victory. Franz Wagner contributed 32 points and nine assists for the Magic, while Paolo Banchero added 30 points and seven rebounds. “We look tired,” said Lakers coach JJ Redick. “I don’t know what contributes to that. We weren’t able to sustain the level of intensity that we started the game with.” The Lakers, who have lost seven of their past 10…
The Los Angeles Lakers have their full lineup back on the floor. Unfortunately, their defense appears to have gone missing. The Lakers’ defense made a token appearance in the first half against Orlando on Monday night. But Los Angeles failed to guard the Magic’s Franz Wagner or Paolo Banchero and lost their third straight game, 118-106. “I think we should look back to the way we played in that eight-game winning streak [from 20 February to 6 March],” said Luka Dončić, who led the Lakers with 32 points in the loss. “I think we got a little bit satisfied, and…
For the second time in two games, the Los Angeles Lakers played Monday with stars Luka Dončić and LeBron James following a seven-game absence by James. For the second time in those two games, the Lakers lost. The Orlando Magic opened a 100-83 fourth-quarter lead, then held on for a 118-106 win. The victory snapped a six-game losing streak at home for the Magic, who hadn’t previously won at the Kia Center since Feb. 23. Dončić and James each scored 24-plus points. But it wasn’t enough to stop a slump that’s now seen the Lakers lose seven of their last…
Christian Pulisic has been brilliant since joining Milan, but there has always been one downfall to the American – he has no alternative. For the Rossoneri, it has often been the American or no one, and whilst attempts have been made to give him rest, there has been no one to fill the void. This has been picked up on by Mauricio Pochettino, and despite the statement being made at the start of this season, there has rarely been any notice of it. However, that is largely a forced decision. So, it is possible there will be some movement in…
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) speaks of ‘eleven games for eleven players’. In the final part of the season, nine league games plus the double Coppa Italia derby, there is an entire team playing for their future. Some in particular will have to prove themselves to be up to Milan. The young Alex Jimenez for example, judged too good for Milan Futuro but not quite ready to take the place of Theo Hernandez at left-back. In the middle there is Fikayo Tomori: for Juventus and Tottenham he was a central defender worth €25m+ in January.…
Santiago Gimenez will return to Italy as a CONCACAF Nations League champion, and the good news for AC Milan is that he should not arrive back injured. Mexico won the Nations League after beating Panama 2-1 in the final thanks to a brace from Raul Jimenez. Gimenez remained on the field for almost the entire match and was only substituted in added time at the end of the second half. However, there were some worries raised about his condition because of a video published by TV Azteca Deportes in which Gimenez can be seen limping noticeably at the end of…
AC Milan are reportedly gearing up for another raid on Chelsea, this time for winger Noni Madueke, with a big swap deal rumoured to be on the cards. There is a good relationship between the hierarchies of Chelsea and Milan following the recent transfers of players such as Christian Pulisic and Joao Felix. Pulisic has found a new lease of life since joining Milan from Chelsea in a £20million deal in July 2023. Felix, meanwhile, has played 10 times for the Rossoneri so far after arriving on a six-month loan from Chelsea during the winter transfer window. Generally, Milan have…
As the official website writes, Milan hosted its global network of partners for ‘an exclusive three-day Partner Gathering in Dubai’, aimed at further reinforcing ‘commitment to fostering meaningful collaborations and driving innovation both on and off the pitch’. The event was held in Dubai and was a chance for AC Milan’s Partners to ‘engage in insightful discussions, share best practices, explore new synergies, and align on the Club’s ambitious vision for the future. AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani and Chief Commercial Officer Maikel Oettle were present and they spoke about the Rossoneri’s plans for global expansion, commercial initiatives, and long-term…
