Barcelona are once again keeping a close eye on the free-agent market for the summer transfer window of next year and have identified several potential targets. One such player on the radars of the current La Liga leaders happens to be Lille and Canada striker Jonathan David. The 24-year-old forward has been in fine form for Lille over the past few seasons and appears destined for a bigger club, having not signed a renewal with the Ligue 1 outfit yet. Barcelona are interested in David, with Robert Lewandowski entering the twilight of his career, and are closely watching the Canadian’s…
AC Milan are currently evaluating Tammy Abraham’s performances ahead of next summer’s decision. In a few months from now, the Rossoneri will have to decide whether to commit to a long-term deal for the English striker who is currently on loan from Roma. As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are pondering Abraham’s permanent signing while at the same time monitoring Jonathan David of Lille. The Canadian attacker is set to become a free agent in June and is expected to consider the possibility of moving to Serie A with Milan as one of the possible destinations. Thus, the Rossoneri…
Leonardo Bonucci, chatted at the Festival dello Sport, and shared his predictions for the race for the Scudetto. Here’s what the former Juventus and Milan defender said: “Napoli with Conte is a safe bet; I said it even in the summer. With the signings they made, they are managing to do well, and I’m not surprised to see them up there.” Bonucci continued: “Scudetto? Napoli, Inter, and Juve can compete for it, but I’m also liking Lazio, and Gasperini’s Atalanta should always be considered for the top spots. I see Milan a step below.”
La Gazzetta dello Sport, in this morning’s print edition, spoke again about Christian Pulisic who returns early to Milanello from international duty with the USMNT. But, there is also talk about Samuel Chukwueze’s injury. The AC Milan boss can be happy about Christian Pulisic’s early return from international duty, but unfortunately, there are reports of a muscle injury to Samuel Chukwueze. Pulisic was supposed to play another friendly against Mexico, but the new U.S. coach, Mauricio Pochettino, has decided to exempt him from this match, so the American forward will return to Milan a few days earlier than expected. From Nigeria,…
Verstappen and Red Bull had been the dominant force of Formula 1’s ground effect era and early in F1 2024, it looked like Verstappen’s all-conquering ways would continue on his way to a fourth World title in as many seasons. But, McLaren has complicated matters. Verstappen has now gone eight races without a win, McLaren’s Lando Norris reducing his Championship lead to 52 points with six rounds to go. Norris delivered his most comprehensive F1 performance yet last time out in Singapore, taking pole, silencing his doubters on race starts, and pulling away to win by 21 seconds over Verstappen. Meanwhile, McLaren…
On Sunday evening, the Boston Celtics hosted the Toronto Raptors for their fourth preseason game. The Celtics won by a score of 115-111 to improve to 4-0 in the preseason. Lonnie Walker had a good game with 20 points while shooting 8/15 from the field and 4/9 from the three-point range in 30 minutes. The Celtics will soon have to make a decision on Walker’s contract. Many fans on social media urged the team to keep the former Miami star.
The Miami Heat have seemingly done it again. Every year the Heat select a player outside of the top-10 picks but end up with one of the top players in the draft class. It appears Indiana center Kel’el Ware is continuing the trend. The 20-year-old shined enough in his first NBA preseason game to impress ESPN Insider Brian Windhorst. “Did you guys see what Kel’el Ware, the No. 1 draft pick of the Miami Heat did in his first game? Uh woah, this guy looks like Derrick Lively with a three-point shot,” Windhorst shared on The Hoop Collective podcast. “Let’s…
John Terry has wasted no time in sending a message to current AC Milan director Zlatan Ibrahimovic after comments attributed to the former Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona forward re-emerged. During a lengthy playing career, the two titans of European football regularly found themselves competing for honours. In seven meetings between Chelsea and Ibrahimovic – who played two of those for Manchester United, the rest for PSG, and missed both Champions League ties in 2022/23 due to injury – the Swedish giant came out on top four times. In a three-year run, he was up against Terry directly in the Champions…
Portugal were dominant against Poland in their latest Nations League clash, winning 3-1, and the Portuguese press have been very positive about AC Milan’s star, Rafael Leao. The past 18 months have been difficult for Milan, and too often, the winger has been criticised for a lack of positive performances. Even during the last international break, there were suggestions that if things were bad in Milan, they were just as bad – if not worse – back home. Whilst things have not improved substantially for the Rossonero, he has shown glimpses of growth, although more consistency is needed before there are suggestions…
In the past few years, the crown of being the ‘best’ AC Milan player has often been between Rafael Leao and Theo Hernandez. However, with the future unclear about one half of Theao, what could it mean for the other half. Rafael Leao has started the season in a manner which would not be expected of him. He is struggling, and his contributions show this, and unfortunately, glimpses are more common than full-length performances. That, of course, does not mean that the page should be turned and Milan should be looking to part at the next possible opportunity. Instead, it…
