Liverpool will take their partnership with Danish beer company Carlsberg to 42 years after inking a new 10-year deal. Carlsberg, which began its partnership with the Reds back in 1992 when it took over the front of shirt sponsorship from electronics firm Candy, was the club’s principal partner until 2010 when Standard Chartered took over, with Carlsberg then becoming the club’s official beer partner. Last year the club celebrated a 30-year anniversary of the partnership, the longest commercial agreement in Premier League history, and the current deal, which still had time to run, sees the firm continue the journey with…
Liverpool have been handed a financial blow after it emerged they won’t be taking part in the revamped 32-team FIFA Club World Cup in 2025. The Reds, winners of the competition in its current form when held in Qatar back in 2019, the year that they won the Champions League, had held out hope that they would be able to participate in the money-spinning competition in the USA in two years time if the UEFA coefficient would be taken into consideration. But at a FIFA Council meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, over the weekend, where this year’s competition is being held,…
The injury issues continue to mount for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp. Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Anfield with Arsenal saw Kostas Tsimikas and Luis Diaz both withdrawn through injury, placing even further pressure on an already strained squad. Tsimikas’ setback has ensured both of Liverpool’s senior left-backs are now sidelined, with Andy Robertson yet to recover from his shoulder issue. Diaz looked to have aggravated a past problem with his knee, though it remains unclear at this stage whether the Colombian will be forced to endure a period of the team as a result. Below is a round-up of those currently…
Liverpool missed the chance to go top of the Premier League table at Christmas as it drew 1-1 with Arsenal on Saturday evening. The Gunners threatened to open up a commanding advantage in first place when Gabriel headed them in front after just four minutes, but Mohamed Salah thumped the host level moments before the half-hour mark. The result keeps Mikel Arteta’s side a point clear at the top of the table, with the Reds ahead of story-of-the-season Aston Villa on goal difference. The Villans themselves could have enjoyed the festivities as league leaders, but they had to rescue a…
Liverpool extended their good Premier League form with a draw at home to leaders Arsenal on Saturday evening. Mohamed Salah scored his 16th goal of the season as the Reds came from behind to earn an absorbing 1-1 stalemate against the Gunners and stay only a point adrift in second place. Liverpool now head to promoted Burnley for their traditional Boxing Day encounter on Tuesday evening. And here we look ahead to the changes Jurgen Klopp could make when his team are next in action. The injuries continue to pile up for the Reds, but a second game in 72 hours means there…
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Manchester United will face a four-way battle from fellow Premier League rivals Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal to snare Brighton striker Evan Ferguson during next summer’s transfer window. Ferguson is part of the latest crop of Brighton stars picking up major interest from Premier League bigwigs. After managing 15 goals in 43 games for Brighton and having only recently turned 19 years of age, Ferguson is one of the hottest properties in the Premier League. The Republic of Ireland international has been a regular for the Seagulls this season, featuring 21 times across all competitions…
This comes courtesy of Sportitalia journalist Alfredo Pudella on his personal website, with the journalist claiming that the Reds were joined by Fulham in conducting exploratory efforts. Jurgen Klopp’s men will could be set to enter the market for a defender this winter as Kostas Tsimikas joined Joel Matip in the treatment room afteWhilst no disrespect is meant to Pudella, it’s hard to imagine Liverpool being seriously interested in the 26-year-old centre-half. FBref have recorded some rather impressive statistics from the Brazilian, it has to be conceded, with the player registering in the 97th percentile for pass completion and 93rd…
Our tipster Jones Knows has got you covered for the football feast on Boxing Day as he offers his insight across an exciting Premier League fixture list. Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest, Boxing Day 12.30pm Those that followed me in on Luton beating Newcastle 1-0 at 14/1 on Saturday, well played. But I must put down my trumpet and switch my view completely on Eddie Howe’s team now they are playing at home once again. It’s chalk and cheese form. The home crowd make such a massive difference to the intensity and bite of Newcastle’s performances. They’ve won their last seven…
The Reds were held to a 1-1 draw against Arsenal at Anfield, with Mo Salah firing in a 29th minute equaliser after Gabriel scored the opener early in the game. But it was yet another game marred with controversy as decisions went against the home side. Odegaard handled the ball like a basketball as Salah tried to take the ball around him. The Liverpool players immediately appealed for handball but to everyone’s surprise referee Chris Kavanagh waved their claims and away and VAR official David Coote agreed with his decision as well. Arsenal man of the match William Saliba admitted in…
Liverpool travel to Burnley on Boxing Day hoping for good news on Luis Diaz’s injury. The Colombian winger came off in the draw with Arsenal after a blow to his knee, which the player described to Jurgen Klopp as a “little pain” at the time. The Liverpool boss said post-match: “The physios were not too concerned, but you never know and we play in three days, so we have to see.” Darwin Nunez is ready and waiting to join the attack if Diaz is not fit, although the Uruguayan may be preferred over Cody Gakpo anyway with neither player in much form of late. Kostas…
