A pair of San Francisco 49ers players received some great news on Monday. The NFL released a list of the top 25 performance-based pay distributions for the 2023 season and Niners quarterback Brock Purdy and cornerback Deommodore Lenoir each made the list. A creation of the CBA, the NFL has a pool of money each year that is given out to players on their rookie contracts who were taken later in the draft based on a formula that incorporates draft position and playing time.

The Lakers knew how important winning Saturday’s matinee was. The Brisbane Broncos have confirmed Adam Reynolds has only suffered a minor hamstring injury, while outside back Deine Mariner will miss a number of weeks. Reynolds didn’t feature in the second half of Brisbane’s Thursday night clash against the Melbourne Storm, leaving the field distraught after suffering a hamstring injury. Ivan Cleary has played down concerns around Jarome Luai’s knee, after he left the field early in Penrith’s 32-18 loss to Manly. Luai was taken off with 12 minutes left after he stayed down midway through the first half when tackled in his own in-goal. The five-eighth then fought on for the remainder of the match, before Cleary opted to withdraw him with Penrith down by 20 points.
